Greg B., Marlen, Davis and I hoisted the three main beams into place (4"x12"x16') on the Garnier limbs. We had to weld four of our own brackets.
...then we hoisted the floor joists (4"x6"x20') into place and bolted them onto the three main beams. My dad spent an afternoon helping set the brackets and bolting beams.
Davis and I lifted the first of the decking onto the floor joists and began screwing them down.. but the kids wanted to take a break, so they began repelling off the treehouse deck.
The view off the front of the deck:
Davis, Danica and I screwed the decking in place from the front edge back toward the trees, just beggining to contour the trees:
In front of Marlen you can see some of the 4x4 frame where the house will be built inside the cluster of trees. Behind her (where the deck boards are piled) is where the bridge will meet the back of the deck. The 4th main beam is not yet in place in this photo.
The 4th/rear main beam (4x8) was added at the back of the deck, suspended by chain. Marlen, Davis, Danica, and Greg B. all helped set and level the beam. Once in place two more 4x6s were installed to 'fan out' the rear of the deck to meet the bridge.
Another shot under the front with the deck in place, and here too you can see the extra bits of 4x6 Davis and I mounted at the front of the deck for mounting the railing posts.
